What it means
Local SEO is the part of search engine optimisation aimed at making a company appear to people looking for services in a particular city or nearby, such as accounting Bratislava or accountant near me. Results appear both in maps and in ordinary search.
Three things decide: relevance, meaning whether the company offers what the person is looking for; distance from the searcher; and prominence, built from reviews, links and mentions of the company on other sites. The foundation is a complete, verified business profile on the maps.
The company’s details, its name, address and phone number, must be identical everywhere: on the website, in the profile, in directories and in the commercial register. Inconsistencies confuse the search engine and the company slips in local results.
How it works in practice
For companies with several branches we create a separate landing page for each city with specific information, not just a swapped address. We add structured data telling the search engine where the company is, when it is open and what services it offers.
Reviews from real clients are among the strongest signals. It pays to ask for them after a completed job and to answer every one, even a critical one, factually. Future customers read the replies too, and they become part of their customer journey.
Local searches happen mostly on mobile, so the website must be responsive and fast by the Core Web Vitals. We work keywords with the city name naturally into copy and headings.
What to watch out for
In a map profile the address is key and must be real. A virtual office where customers cannot be received is often not allowed by map services, and the profile may be suspended; a service-area profile without a published address is used instead.
Buying fake reviews or creating profiles for branches that do not exist breaches platform rules and consumer protection law. Being found out means the profile is deleted and years of trust are lost, and a fine may follow.
